My Mission

My Mission

My name is Richard Lane Jr. I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s on the challenging streets of Los Angeles, CA. Thanks to my involvement in sports, particularly football and basketball, I managed to avoid much of the street life and excelled as an athlete. Although my parents’ relationship was short-lived, I was inspired by the spirit of my accomplished father, which motivated me to pursue excellence in both sports and academics.

In the early 2000s, while living in Houston, Texas, I found myself in a unique position of joining my estranged brothers in continuing the legacy of our legendary father. This decision led my younger brothers and me to join a large group of NFL families in a class-action lawsuit against the NFL, addressing concerns about CTE among former players. After the lawsuit was resolved, we wanted to ensure that our father’s story, “Night Train,” was remembered and honored. We decided to pool our resources and form an LLC to produce a documentary about our father. This film aims to tell the long-awaited story of one of the most dominant and influential figures in pro football, highlighting his life in Los Angeles, Detroit, and Chicago. Look out for our film’s release, and prepare to be amazed by the extraordinary tale of a beloved man, sports figure, and his passion for life and the game.
